It's been a busy two months with much activity at Hawks Landing!
We accepted our first two reservations one of which recently resulted in a sale to a lovely couple moving to Gaylord from out of state; the Mrs. grew up in Northern Michigan, and like me, couldn't wait to get back someday. They are building an Osprey on Lot 6, with construction slated to begin the week of 10/10. The Osprey is our detached model.
We also have a pending sale on Unit 1 and hope to begin construction on that unit and its adjoining condo unit on Lot 17 in mid-October. We are planning to build a spec unit on Lot 5. Net effect of all this construction activity is that we'll have all our current model-type offerings under construction. Unit 17 will be a Goshawk, Units 15 & 16 currently under construction are Talons, and Unit 5 will be an Osprey. Unit 15 is currently not listed for sale and will serve as our first model.
Parade of Homes, 15 & 16 status
We are scheduled to complete Unit 15 by Thursday, Oct. 13; just
in time for the Parade of Homes which is being held that weekend. This model
will show-off many standard amenities and some upgrades buyers can
consider. We'll be open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday, Saturday, and Sunday; if I
step out for a minute call me at 619.0400 and I will be at the property within minutes.Unit 16 is priced at pre-Katrina material prices and is loaded with upgrades, many of which are discounted to below-developer cost. We received some cost savings from our suppliers on this unit and are passing these savings on to our buyers. This unit comes with a full basement, two egress windows, a garden spa tub and a fireplace all for an upgrade total of an unbelievably low price of $5000. This may never happen again, so take advantage now! This unit will be constructed through drywall and then put on hold o allow its future homeowner the opportunity to custom finish.

Development News
We weren't able to finish our paving as planned due to some schedule
delays by subs who lost manpower due to Katrina, not allowing the pavers to start as scheduled. Instead we paved Saturday laying 3" of asphalt on both the road and our two driveways.New Horizon is out now planting trees and will landscape Unit 15 the week of 10/10. We're eager to get our lights on The Rock!
Late fall will have us busy finishing our new construction starts through at least framing so we can work over the winter. From 10/14 on we'll have our model staffed or will be minutes away so we invite you to come out for a visit.
